Origin And History

Ashridge International Montessori School (AIMS) was founded by Mr. and Mrs. Owusu-Tweneboa. The idea of establishing the school was laid upon the heart of the couple many years ago until a confirmation finally came through Mr. Owusu-Tweneboa for its establishment.

The Lord who gave the idea provided the name ASHRIDGE for the school. The services of an architect and a structural engineer were employed. Then the needed architectural designs and initial bill of quantities for the project were procured. Having received the necessary pursuits, construction got underway in 2004 and was completed as scheduled.

On the 14th of September, 2010, the school officially commenced with seven (7) pupils, eight (8) teachers and four (4) non-teaching staff. To God be the glory!!

AIMS is registered under the Education Act 1961 with registered numbers: LEK|ED|PPS|113; LEK|ED|PPM|124; LEK|ED|PJH|108 for Pre-school (crèche-kindergarten), Primary and Junior High school respectively. It is situated at No 8B, 3rd Ayiku Lane behind the Zenith Bank Baatsonaa, off the Spintex road.

On the occasion of the school’s 1st anniversary on Friday, 28th October 2011, management was full of praise and gratitude to God for the remarkable progress made so far in terms of the increase in student population and their level of academic performance.

On 28th January 2012, parents and teachers witnessed the installation of a state-of-the-art computer lab equipped with an interaction board and connected to the internet. Students are well positioned to access quality education from a serene and conducive learning environment that promises of holistic educational package.
